Have you found yourself trying different programs to get healthier but keep finding the habits hard to maintain, or they end up being so overwhelming you ditch it part way through, throwing your hands up in frustration – mostly at yourself?
How many times have you started and stopped (before getting full results) the South Beach Diet? Weight Watchers? Whole 30? or any of the other multitude of programs out there.
It’s not your fault.
Diets simply don’t work.
And diets are the first place we look when we want to make lifestyle changes.
We all know what to do but keeping up the habits and doing the things we should do fall by the wayside. Life gets in the way, self-sabotage knocks you out, self-doubt keeps you stuck. Stress and overwhelm make it impossible for you to feel like you can actually keep it up.
If you’re feeling frustrated with a lack of long term results, with yourself and the excuses you keep throwing out there, then please read on – making lifestyle (and lifelong) changes is a challenge. It’s not easy, it’s way easier to just give in. But with the right support, the right tools and the permission to just be you and eat what you want, and move how you want, and take care of yourself how you want is the powerful secret you’ve been missing.
A Fork In The Road
I’m curious to know how many times in your life you’ve been faced with a choice, a decision, to go left or to go right. Going LEFT means you are moving closer to what you say you want, and going RIGHT means staying still. You may have chosen to go right because of finances, fear, excuses, “no time”, not the “right time” and many other reasons but end up regretting the decision and wishing you had just done it. You knew what you should have done, but you chose the opposite.
Why do we do this?
You aren’t alone – I’ve done this too!
I remember when I was first exploring making healthier changes to my life and I had many opportunities in front of me I rejected and walked away from.
I remember at 16 being offered a chance to go to France to study and live but I turned it down, afraid my (drug addicted) boyfriend wouldn’t want me to go. That was one hell of a sliding door that kept me in a really shitty relationship for a long time.
At 25 I was offered a job working on the Olympic team for CBC’s television crew – it involved travel and lots of great opportunities, but I turned it down because I didn’t want the inconvenience of traveling far from downtown for work – so I ended up with an extremely stressful and unhappy job instead.
At 34 I found myself 60lbs overweight, feeling sick, miserable, unhappy, burnt out and generally pissy about everything. On the outside, it looked like I had my life together, but inside I knew I had to stop making excuses and start making changes but I had no idea how or where to start.
So I just started with weight loss the way I knew how – diet programs, shakes, pills and the rest of it. Nothing really worked for me – I hated those programs with a passion (I bet you do too). I thought there had to be a better way. But there was NOTHING on the marketplace that helped with anything more than just the food or working out. Nothing addressed habits that keep us stuck!
That better way for me was holistic nutrition and so I went to school to learn everything I could. And 9 months later I had lost all the weight (and have kept it off), I stopped having migraines, IBS, joint pain and brain fog.
But who cares if you’re skinny if you’re still miserable?
It wasn’t enough…I was still bitter, angry, had no confidence, my internal dialogue with myself was so bad. I was anxious, stressed out and overwhelmed.
This is when I had another door to go through – I could keep doing what I was doing or choose a different path.
I chose to ignore the different path and keep doing what I was doing. I figured I could do this myself. I just needed to read more books, make more money, find new friends. I shopped a lot, buying a bunch of crap I didn’t need. I ate chips and zoned out with wine and TV. I was numb. Skinny, but numb.
Then one day, I had an epiphany, I needed help. I needed someone to help me through the stuff I could no longer help myself with. I surrendered to the fact that I actually couldn’t do this on my own.
So I started to research coaches since therapy didn’t really work for me, and an opportunity was presented to me with a $15,000 price tag.
Ouch. That price tag, for coaching. It stung. I was so freaked out by it. I trusted the woman who wanted to help me, but that price tag! Holy shit. Who the hell charges that? Where the hell am I going to get the money for that? What if it doesn’t work????
What if I’m so damaged I can’t be fixed?
I decided to choose the right, I hung up on her, feeling like I dodged a bullet.
A week later, I couldn’t breathe. My life HAD to change. I simply could NOT keep going. It was up to me to take control, to stop feeling sorry for myself. To stop making excuses. So I called the woman back and chose the left. I chose ME.
I did not have the money, I had to figure it all out. And I did. And it was the best damn decision I’ve made in my life so far. I was on life support and I would not be here today, standing up for YOUR life if I hadn’t made that scary decision those years ago.
I have since then worked with other amazing coaches, and I decided to get certified myself as a life coach since it had such a huge impact on my life and was spilling over into my own coaching with my clients and THEY were getting amazing results too!
Clients like Lisa who went on every diet under the sun, hit the snooze button every day to avoid her life, was excruciatingly shy and ashamed of how she looked, gained 40lbs and generally felt like shit about herself to being the woman who went to parties by herself, who got an amazing job, who woke up 2 hours earlier excited to start her day. She took control. She chose Lisa.
Or like Steph who hired me when she was on sick leave from work, depressed, overweight, and generally very scared to live out her life. Now she has a new man, a new place to live in a gorgeous swanky condo, she lost 40 pounds, and is the star baseball player on her team. She took the left path. She chose Steph.
And Jennifer who transformed her business too…
I have many more examples to share with you like this.
But what do these women have in common?
They chose the LEFT.
How do you trust your gut to make the right choice? How do you know that this is the right choice for you?
Well, picture your life 6 months from now, and imagine how you WANT it to be. That’s your answer. If you want more of what you have now, choose the right. If you want to change, choose the left.
It’s simple, but it’s not easy, I get that.
Easy is continuing to live the way I was living before. Easy is making a pot of kraft dinner (that was my meal of choice for many years). Easy is flopping out and drinking wine instead of doing a meditation or taking care of myself in another way. Easy for Lisa would have been to keep snoozing. Easy for Steph would have been to stay on indefinite sick leave and scarfing back the ice cream. Easy for Jennifer would have been continuing to rely on caffeine and sugar to get through.
Making bold life changes is HARD. WHAT you need to do is the simple part. But the decision is hard, and sustaining it is hard.
This is because we operate on autopilot, never interrupting the patterns that keep us stuck. When my coach presented me with a $15,000 coaching opportunity it interrupted my pattern in a big way. I started to think: what kind of woman pays for that? What do I need to do differently to show up for a coach who charges that? How do I show up differently to make the money I need to pay for that?
It’s way easier to stay on autopilot, doing the tiny little not so good for you habits that dig you further and further away from the real life you want. Because going after the life you want means giving up some of the comforting things that aren’t good for you, but at least it’s familiar.
I’ve worked with hundreds of women over the last 5 years of being in the health and wellness industry and I know what it takes to succeed at this game. Because I DID IT. And you can too.
Is this for you?
And this brings me to why I created a single program to deal with all the pieces you struggle with, giving you a plan to rewire your brain, interrupt these old patterns, forge a new life.
This is a LIFESTYLE group program. Not an “eat this not that” program or a “do this don’t do that” program. If you’re looking for more of the same as what’s out there, this isn’t for you. If you’re open to truly learning how to make lifestyle changes, then this is the program for you.
The ideal person for this program is someone who is struggling with overwhelm and stress, has weight to lose but wants to do it naturally, without dieting, someone who is ready to make the real changes needed and is not looking for a quick fix. You are someone who feels like shit more than you feel good and you’re SO done with that. You just don’t know where to start. You want to slay your sabotages once and for all, slay the inner critic who keeps telling you that you’re not good enough. You want to live your BEST LIFE. Wine and chocolate included!
What is the Delicious Life Movement?
The Delicious LIfe Movement is a total Lifestyle program. It’s a complete body, mind and soul transformation program. It’s unlike anything on the market today and will revolutionize the way you look at food, the way you manage stress, and the way you sabotage yourself (it will SLAY the sabotage!).
Most of my clients come to me wanting to lose weight, to have more energy, and to get out of their own way.
Sleep problems, emotional and stress eating, bloating, scary diagnoses like pre-diabetes and auto-immune conditions, burnout, adrenal fatigue, food sensitivities (to the point of barely being able to eat!), and memory/brain fog issues are the bigger problems they have.
I have learned that in order to really address these issues we have to go way beyond a food and exercise plan. That’s only the tip of the iceberg. We have to dig into the deeper root causes of all these issues to really get you the results you want. Once and for all.
You’re done. You’re sick of being sick. You don’t want to be a size zero, you want to be a size healthy. You want to have more energy, feel sexier, live your best life ever and end the self-sabotage for good.
In 8 weeks you can expect to (actual results of past clients, yours may vary):
- Be more focused and less stressed.
- Lose weight naturally and change your relationship with food from guilt to enjoying it!
